One of the things I've been thinking about for Xiulan are the details of her interpersonal relationships and how they impact who she is as a person.  This is particularly important because she is not a gender-flipped Masato Storm; she's a different person.  Her reactions to things and to people are not the same on many points as his.  And as a matter fact, there are points where we don't even know what his actual opinion of something was anyway.
